Tender Description
Parkes Shire Council ("Council") is inviting Quotations from suitably skilled Consultants to work with Council and the local business community to develop a Signage and Wayfinding Strategy and Style Guide ("the Strategy and Style Guide") for the Parkes Shire local government area ("LGA").
The objective of the Strategy and Style Guide is to provide a comprehensive, consistent and strategic approach to signage throughout the Parkes Shire LGA, including a clear signage family/hierarchy, visual identity, and design/technical requirements for:
+ LGA gateway/entry signage,
+ Town/locality entry signage,
+ Street signage,
+ Council facility signage,
+ Community facility entry signage,
+ Community facility information signage,
+ Town centre information signage,
+ Visitor information and interpretive signage, and
+ Walkway/cycleway signage.
The Strategy and Style Guide should:
(a) Include an analysis of Parkes Shire's key features, including its road hierarchy, access points, towns and villages, and key tourist points.
(b) Include a review and current situation analysis of existing signage throughout the Parkes Shire, including an assessment of each signage category identified.
(c) Define a signage family/hierarchy, spanning each of the signage categories identified.
(d) Specify the system and technical requirements for signage, including viewing heights and distance, technical specifications, footing and installation instructions.
(e) Provide signage brand guidelines, including logo placement, colours, fonts/ typography, arrows, iconography, etc.
(f) Include a recommended implementation plan, assigning priority (e.g., high, medium, low) to each recommended installation.
