Numeracy Leader Online Course - Leading Improvement in Mathematics Teaching
This procurement is to engage a suitable supplier to complete the refinement and facilitation of the Leading Improvement in Mathematics Teaching (OC4) course.
About the programs:
Course participants will consist of:
- Primary and Secondary Mathematics teachers and teacher leaders with a formal or informal leadership role in influencing the improvement of numeracy outcomes and/or mathematics teaching.
- For example, Principals, Assistant Principals, Leading Teachers, Learning Specialists, Professional Learning Community leads, Primary Maths and Science Specialist, numeracy and curriculum leaders.
Leading Improvement in Mathematics Teaching (OC4) explores approaches to collecting and analysing evidence that can be used to apply evidence-based classroom teaching practices. Participants will:
- be supported to investigate, analyse and strengthen current approaches to mathematics learning using a differentiated teaching methodology in the classroom
- develop their ability to lead, engage and support teachers of mathematics and numeracy in the teaching of math concepts and thinking in the classroom
- gain a greater understanding of contemporary research and approaches to highly effective leadership skills in mathematics teaching
- collect and analyse a range of different evidence types and experiment with their practices.
About the learning design for the program:
The course is currently 15 weeks in duration structured around four inquiry cycles. This includes five 2-hour workshops and in-school investigations between the workshops, regular team meetings and self-directed learning. Participants submit a final project and receive feedback from the facilitators. The overall learning commitment is approximately 75 hours.
A supplier is required to refine this existing design. The supplier will be provided with the learning and digital design of the course, as well as recent mid and end-course feedback data.
