VicTrack’s Brooklyn site is located at 459 Somerville Road, Brooklyn, Victoria. The site is currently vacant and has stockpiles of soil and industrial waste, historically dumped onsite.
The stockpile waste includes asbestos containing materials (ACM), inert waste and contaminated soils. The total volume of waste is estimated to be approx. 13,000 m3.
A Clean Up Plan (CUP) and Site Management Plan (SMP) were developed and verified by an environmental auditor. These plans were submitted and accepted by EPA, in association with a former EPA Notice for the site.
VicTrack is now seeking to undertake the clean-up at the site in accordance with the EPA accepted CUP to carry out stockpile waste clean-up at 459 Somerville Road, Brooklyn as per the CUP, SMP and technical specification. The request for this activity is expected to be released to the market by mid-February 2023 with estimated project completion by the end of 2025.
The scope of this project will include, but not be limited to “Carry out stockpile waste site clean-up at 459 Somerville Road, Brooklyn”.
