Tender Description
The RACP Ethics Committee currently has a vacancy for an RACP member.
The RACP is seeking to appoint one (1) RACP member to its Ethics Committee with relevant skills and expertise in ethics, continuing professional development, education and the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand health systems.
Applicants should:-
- provide relevant skills and expertise to the Ethics Committee;
- ·not represent any particular organisation;
- be prepared to devote the time to prepare for and attend Ethics Committee meetings on a pro bono basis.
To ensure that governance and behavioural qualities among the Ethics Committee membership meets the scope and purpose as per the Ethics Committee By Law, the following attributes are highly desirable for this appointment to the Ethics Committee:
- Knowledge and experience in relation to rural and remote medicine
- Advanced experience in risk management and mitigation
- Governance/regulatory and oversight experience
- Understanding of Māori culture and belief system.
The Ethics Committee is a Committee of the Board charged with the responsibility of providing the Board with advice in areas that raise ethical considerations in the context of policy and advocacy, education, clinical practice and the health of our communities, research and financial investment.
The Ethics Committee meets up to four times a year including one face-to-face at RACP head office in Sydney (all day meeting) and three times via Zoom videoconference meetings (from 2 to 4 hours).
