This is an Advanced Tender Notice to receive notification from parties interested in tendering for the project. Please note that this advance tender notice is not the actual tender. No tender documentation is provided at this stage.

Project Summary

The Victorian School Building Authority is intending to release a Request for Tender in January 2023 for a landscape project which involves converting an existing council carpark into a new playground and open space for both Camberwell Primary School and the broader community.

The site for this new play ground and landscape is located between the Camberwell Primary School and the Camberwell Civic gardens and is currently used as the Boroondara City Council car park.

The site is home to a large number of existing mature trees located within the carpark and the retention of these trees is of high importance to the success of the project.

The project will include and require construction of the following:

Demolition of asphalt areas, contaminated soil removal, fencing and associated hardstand elements within the existing carpark,  including demolition over tree protection zones. A Tree Management Impact Strategy will be provided for the demolition methodology for these sensitive areas.

Grading to achieve a DDA compliant open space and landscape and to provide the following areas:

Running Circuit & path network

Basketball Half Court

Areas for play equipment

Sensory Garden & Outdoor learning Area

Sand Play Area

Challenge Play Area

Synthetic Grass Sporstfield

Garden beds

All respondents will need to have a current CSR Registration under the category New Commercial Construction Prequalification level amount no less than $2,000,000

A separate Request for Tender (RFT) will be issued. It is expected that approximately four tenderers will be invited. The VSBA will decide on which firms are to be invited to submit a tender, based on the firm’s experience, capability, and capacity to undertake the work in the required timeframe, and past performance.
