Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠A service provider is required to support functions of the following units with Human Resource Command (HRC)
Drug and Alcohol Testing unit (DATU)
DATU is responsible for co-ordinating the collection and analysis of the following Drug and Alcohol Testing (DAAT) regime for Victoria Police:
Random includes breath and urine (currently 30 % of sworn employees); Targeted;
Critical incidents (Cl's) (afterhours currently provided by an external provider); Designated Work Unit (DWU) and
Designated Work Function (DWF) Testing.
The current biological samples collected DATU collectors include breath, urine for illicit drugs, urine for steroids and hair (targeted tests only and if required). All DAA T currently conducted by DATU is during business hours inclusive of Cl's with after­hours Cl's and some Targeted DAAT being conducted by an the current services provider.

Medical Advisory Unit (MAU)
MAU provides occupational medical services to Victoria Police. It coordinates and conducts statutory medical testing, health monitoring, fitness for duty assessments and examinations, for recruit applicants, specialist squads and employees of Victoria Police. These assessments may require pathology and toxicology testing. The external laboratory service provider provides these testing services through this contract.
Victoria Police offers the following employment streams and all applicants must undergo a Urine Drug Screen (UDS) as part of the recruitment process:

Police;
Protective Service Officer's (PSO's);
Police Custody Officer's (PCO's);
Former members of Victoria Police registered with the Police Registration Services Board (PRSB) and
Prior Policing Experience (PPE) nationally or international.
