Superintendent and Contract Management Services

The Organisation

Western Power is a Western Australian State Government owned corporation responsible for building, maintaining and operating an electricity network that connects our 2.3 million customers to traditional and renewable energy sources, delivering an essential service to our community.

The Scope

Western Power is seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations, for the provision of Superintendent and Contract Management services under AS 4000, AS4902 or AS4906:

• Ensure that both parties perform their obligations in accordance with the contract.
• Acting as agent of the Principal, supervising the performance of the contract in the interest of the principal;
• Acting as a certifier, issuing certificates and making informed decisions as to reasonable measures or value of work, quantities or time.
• Acting as an arbitrator under the contract, including reviewing decisions and determining disputes between parties in an impartial manner.

Specific functions of the superintendent may include:

• issuing directions to the contractor on behalf of the principal;
• approving programs;
• approving subcontractors;
• resolving contract document ambiguities;
• examining and testing materials;
• postponement and suspension of work; and
• ordering variations.

Registration Requirements

Suppliers are required to respond to the following for the ROI submission:

• Demonstrate track record and capability in delivering the high-level Scope requirements stated above.
• Reference from at least three customers who have been offered similar services.
• Safety, Health & Environment information to be requested as part of this exercise.
