Tender Description
The Tuparikino Active Community Hub project ("the Hub") is a multi-sport and active recreation community facility proposed to be located in the heart of New Plymouth's recreation precinct. The Hub project was developed to address the facility needs of various sports codes throughout New Plymouth, with the New Plymouth District Council ("NPDC") adding a community well-being component to the scope of the project. This project is a collaborative effort between mana whenua Ngati Tuparikino and Ngati Te Whiti, Sport Taranaki and NPDC.
The draft Masterplan for the project proposes in its initial stages the construction of a six indoor court hub building with flexible movement spaces, an artificial hockey turf, an artificial football turf, an artificial multi-use turf with a pavilion building, 12 outdoor courts, four community sports fields and two cricket wickets. Located at the Pukekura Raceway Recreation Reserve, the racecourse, existing improvements and TSB Stadium would be retained and incorporated into the development.
The scope for this project is for Fire Engineering, Protection and Passive Fire design for the main Hub building and Pavilion building, with an option for fire design for a standalone Early Childhood Education (ECE) building.
