Tender Description
The Lockyer Valley has a complex network of creeks and waterways, which all originate within the valley and are prone to flooding. Of particular concern is the propensity for flash flooding to occur, given the steep catchments, locally intense rainfall and low immunity roads. The isolated locations of inundated roads and subsequent inaccessibility results in the inability for Council to deploy road closure and warning signage, placing motorists at risk of entering floodwater.
Council has undertaken a review of the road network and identified locations to be priorities for automatic warning signage. These locations were nominated based upon the potential hazards, likely exposure and resulting risk.
The intent of the project is to provide these locations with automated electronic signage and, in some cases, pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) cameras with infrared imaging for night-time viewing.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council is seeking Tenders from suitably qualified contractors to undertake the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, documentation and maintenance handover (including the provision of documentation and operator training) of the signage and camera infrastructure detailed within the project scope.
