Tender Details
Tender Description
Development Victoria is seeking responses to a Request for Proposal (RFP) to engage a suitably experienced Contractor for the Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation (MAPT), NGV International Upgrade Early Works Package. Development Victoria is preparing for the construction of the new The Fox: NGV Contemporary building and other sub-projects as part of MAPT, the largest cultural infrastructure project planned for delivery in Australia.
To enable business continuity for NGV, a series of workspaces and core operational functions require relocating within NGV International ahead of expected impacts from demolition and construction works in Sturt Street and at 77 Southbank Boulevard, associated with delivery of The Fox: NGV Contemporary. This package of works will deliver upgraded staff accommodation and public spaces, a temporary hub for art conservation, and temporary loading arrangements. The works include a number of structural elements and associated building services relocations.
Works will be sequenced for delivery in a sensitive and busy operating environment ahead of The Fox: NGV Contemporary construction program, with key dependencies being the demolition of 77 Southbank Boulevard in 2023 and commencement of The Fox: NGV Contemporary Main Works in 2024.
Bidders will be required to provide:
- Demonstrated experience in sequenced delivery of commercial fit-out, including structural and services works, in a significant heritage building
- A programme and methodology which enables delivery within a live public operating environment, collaborating with project partners to achieve agreed outcomes
- Current and externally certified OH&S systems
- Demonstrated experience in delivering construction works to the value of $10 million
The procurement will be conducted as a single-phase Request For Proposal by select tender through the Victorian Government Construction Supplier Register (CSR), released through Buying for Victoria. The Contractor will be engaged to provide construction services under Development Victoria’s standard Construct-Only Agreement which is a modified AS2124 Contract.
This tender is subject to Strategic Project Local Jobs First requirements and the Fair Jobs code, as well as the Victorian Government Social Procurement framework.
Bidders who register their interest and sign a confidentiality deed may be invited to participate in the tender. Please download the Confidentiality Deed from Buying for Victoria, complete and email to the proposal manager, Justin Walsh, by Wednesday 5 October in order to register your interest.
