Audit and Risk Committee Expressions of Interest (2 Positions)

⁠⁠⁠Moira Shire Council are seeking two external independent members to join the Audit and risk Committee. The Audit and Risk Committee is an independent Advisory Committee of Council whose primary role is to report to Council and provide appropriate advice and recommendations on the effective conduct of its responsibilities for financial and performance reporting, risk management and fraud prevention, maintaining reliable systems or internal controls and facilitating the organisations ethical development.

The external independent members will have expertise in financial management, risk management, assurance, health and safety, environmental management, information systems/technology and/or business.

Candidates should be knowlegeable about the duties and responsibilities of the position as outlines in the Charter; especially in relation to Government operations, financial reporting and auditing requirements, risk management, and corporate governance in addition aware of the complexity of Council service delivery and infrastructure challenges would be desirable.

It is desirable that the independent member will have senior experience, qualifications relevant to areas of expertise, expertise in environmental, social and governance policies and a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course.
