Port Hedland Radial Stacker Replacement Project - fabrication

⁠⁠⁠Rio Tinto is seeking the services of an experienced fabricator to undertake the manufacture and delivery to site for the replacement of STK01 Radial stacker at the Port Hedland salt operation. The new wet salt radial stacker will generally be like for like with modern upgrades. This includes alternative materials selection for corrosion resistance (stainless steel conveyor/handrails), compliance with the latest machine standards and Rio Tinto safety standards. Manufacture will include robust quality processes, preassembly and testing, high specification marine coatings, procurement / fitment of mechanical and electrical items, and functional testing as applicable.

The new STK01 will stack wet salt, with a capacity of 1500tph nominal, 1750 tph max capacity, approx 96m long, 17.5deg, 185deg of rotation/slew, rail mounted slewing stacker. The existing stacker is approx 120t total weight.

The wider project will include full disposal and replacement which includes civil and earthworks for new rail / concrete infrastructure, stacker erection and commissioning, cyclone tower and tie down replacement, electrical and control systems design and integration, and compliance with Rio Tinto D7 functional safety standard.
