Principal Consultant - PYRC Strengthening Works

The Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA) on behalf of Youth Justice (YJ) are seeking the services of a Principal Consultant for the design of strengthening works to be undertaken in the Parkville Youth Residential Centre (PYRC) facility at the Parkville Youth Justice Precinct.

The scope includes the design works associated with strengthening of existing accommodation units (Barnett, Cullity and Parkview) and will be subject to finalisation following an intensive review of sitepriorities and the estimated costs associated with these works. The design works generally consist of the following across the buildings: - Strengthening of access hatches - Ceiling strengthening to prevent access to roof space where existing ceilings are plaster - Strengthen bedroom cushion head boxes - Replace aluminium doors and strengthening of surrounding blockwork to support new doors - General make good/painting impacted areas The intent for the design scope of works is to proceed to 70% design development of schematic drawings, the design consultant is then intended to be novated to the Contractor for completion of the design work.

Number of Pre-qualified Suppliers Selected: 5

The shortlisting process is based on past experience, prequalification to the construction supplier register, and financial capability level

The RFT process will have its own selection criteria and weighting including but not limited to technical, commercial, legal, Local Jobs First Policy and Social Procurement.
