Afterhours Equipment Repairs

⁠⁠⁠The DHS Equipment Program (EP) within the Disability Services Division funds equipment for approximately 1500 South Australians on an annual basis, to support their mobility, access and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) needs where individuals are otherwise unfunded for these services through Commonwealth Government options. This client group includes people with palliative care needs, those aged over 65 years living with a disability, adults within the community connections program and others requiring wigs, orthoses and customised mobility items.

Basic, readily available equipment items are sourced through a contracted supplier, and repair requests for these items are sent to this supplier for follow up. Complex, customised equipment items remain the property of the DHS Equipment Program and clients with these complex items may require afterhours repairs on their equipment. Items may include:

• Customised manual wheelchairs
• Customised Powered wheelchairs
• Air mattresses
• Hoists

DHS requires an afterhours repair service for the above DHS Equipment. DHS expects that the successful Supplier will be able to provide afterhours services between 5:00pm to 11pm weekdays (at a minimum) and between 9am to 5pm Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays (excluding Christmas day) at a minimum.
