Counselling Service for Young People who have experience Family and Domestic Violence
Tender ID: 503174
Tender Details
Tender Description
Path to Safety: Western Australia’s Strategy to Reduce Family and Domestic Violence 2020-30, calls for a greater focus on the needs of young people who have been exposed to family and domestic violence (FDV), recognising that they are victims in their own right. Directing efforts toward young people (and children) is crucial to ending intergenerational FDV.
To provide support for young people who have been impacted by FDV, the McGowan Government has committed to deliver one metropolitan and one regional counselling service for young people who have experienced FDV. The services will operate from the Rockingham and Northam (Wheatbelt) locations. It is anticipated that each service will approximately support between 250 and 300 young people per year.
The Department of Communities (Communities) is seeking to procure a service provider to deliver a metropolitan (Rockingham) and regional (Northam) Counselling Service for Young People who have experienced Family and Domestic Violence. Communities intends to conduct an Open Advertisement procurement process, advertised via Tenders WA in August 2022.
During the first half of 2022, Communities engaged external consultants to undertake consultation and service design activities with young people with lived experience, specialist service providers, and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. Respondents will be provided with a copy of the service design report and will be required to present a response that is informed by all elements of the report.
