Expressions of interest are open for members to join the AFOEM Improving the Health of Health Care Workers Working Group.
This is a new working group being established and seeking members from across the College. Applications are invited from members with the following expertise:
- Occupational and Environmental Medicine
- Public Health Medicine
- Infectious Disease Medicine
- Respiratory Medicine
- Adult Medicine
- Paediatric and Child Health Medicine
- trainees
and:
- identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander or Māori
- work in or are familiar with regional, rural and remote health care
The Group will produce a guidance document for relevant stakeholders to advocate for improvement in Work Health and Safety (WHS) in the healthcare sector (particularly hospitals) to benefit workers, employers, organisations and the community. In undertaking this work, the Group will produce evidence-informed guidance for health care workplaces, demonstrated as a gap area during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Group is led by the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM) and holds up to 3 meetings a year.
Members join the Group for a 2 year term or until the completion of the guidance document.
