Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The Gold Coast Waterways Authority (GCWA) is requesting Expression of Interest (EOI) submissions from suitably qualified, experienced and resourced Principal Contractors for the construction for the Muriel Henchman Park Improvements Project as part of implementation of The Spit Master Plan, May 2019 (the master plan).

This EOI is for the following scope of construction works across the project areas, including but not limited to the following elements:

  • Upgrade existing two lane boat ramp to a four lane boat ramp with central floating walkway (north boat ramp). Central floating walkway is to be a design and Construct component.
  • Upgraded existing two lane boat ramp (south boat ramp)
  • An architecturally designed public amenities building
  • Large shade shelters at central amenities area
  • A central green open space area
  • Internal circulation roads and paths
  • Revetment wall
  • Vehicle and trailer access points
  • Design and Construction of the extension to the existing pontoon
  • Civil services including a Sewer Pump Station
  • Electrical and lighting reticulation
  • Services / infrastructure to support a future Surf Life Saving facility (design and construction by others) to the southwest of the site
  • Removal of existing vegetation
  • Landscaping planting / works
  • Park infrastructure including picnic tables, beach showers and drinking fountains
  • Informational, regulatory and interpretive signage / elements
  • Integrated public art in the form of concrete stencilling
  • Demolish / decommission existing amenities block
  • Demolish existing services as required
