Tender Description
The City of Gold Coast will attend the METSTRADE Show in Amsterdam from 15 to 17 November 2022.
Expressions of interest for the trade mission are now open.
The METSTRADE Show is the largest exhibition of marine equipment, materials and systems in the world. This international B2B exhibition for the marine leisure industry has served as a platform for innovation, market developments and networking since 1988. The trade show features around 1300 exhibitors and 1000s of visitors.
In addition to the leisure marine industry, METSTRADE caters for 3 specialist sectors:
· superyachts
· marinas
· yards and construction materials.
There are 3 specialised pavilions, each offering a smaller self-contained show.
Trade mission purpose:
· Promote Gold Coast marine businesses as world leaders in the marine sector including a destination for the maintenance, repair, and on-boarding of superyachts
· Increase the volume of exports and exporters on the Gold Coast
· Strengthen our global stakeholder relationships
· Build a cooperative approach with local marinas and other east coast destinations such as Cairns, Brisbane, and Sydney
Eligibility criteria for Gold Coast businesses:
· Be a registered Gold Coast marina, marine manufacturer or service provider
· Export-ready and committed to ongoing market development
· Willing to help grow the Gold Coast's reputation in international business markets
· Eligible for the federal Export Market Development Grant scheme
· Have transferable product or services to target overseas regions
· Have the capacity to set up in-market resources including warehousing
· Meet regulatory requirements in the region
· Have demonstrated commitment of resources to the sales cycle
· Gold Coast businesses interested in participating will be assessed for export capability and market readiness.
Key dates:
Date: Monday 1 August 2022. Activity: Expressions of interest open.
Date: Friday 9 September 2022. Activity: Expressions of interest close.
Date: Thursday 13 October 2022. Activity: Pre-departure session.
Date: Tuesday 15 November to Thursday 17 November 2022. Activity: Attend METSTRADE Show.
To be confirmed: Possible extension program – site visit meetings, business matching and private appointments.
Why attend?
The METSTRADE Trade Mission is focused on the Australia's Gold Coast trade stand in Amsterdam, which is designed to support the Gold Coast's marine sector and encourage exports from the city. The trade stand will support local marine products and services businesses to connect with buyers, partners and service providers from across the globe.
While the trade show is held in Amsterdam, METSTRADE is a global hub event attracting serious buyers and suppliers worldwide.
What's on offer?
There are two pricing options.
Exhibitor package ($500):
Apply for shared exhibitor space on the Australia's Gold Coast trade stand with your company logo and allocated sales counter to display your products.
Walker package ($250):
Become a ‘walker’ to leverage the trade stand for meetings and connections, without an exhibition display. This package is ideal for emerging brands wanting to investigate the market before launching, or established brands visiting the market for meetings.
Successful companies are required to pay the participation fee on receipt of invoice before departure to secure your place on the mission. Attending the show includes help from our appointed export representative attending the trade mission.
Additional requirements:
Participants to fund and book their own flights, accommodation, freight and other costs associated with travel to Amsterdam.
Participants must agree to mission terms and conditions.
Exhibitors must attend a welcome networking event at the METSTRADE Show.
