Tender Description
This work is for five (5) Separable Portions of Urban Water Renewal work to be completed over the 2022-2023 financial year and the 2023-2024 financial year (01 July to 30 June).
Cost fluctuations (for materials only) will be paid in the second year of the contract i.e. 01 July 2023 to 30 June 2024 and will be done on an open book basis using the sub-trade rates from the tender as the baseline. The successful contractor will need to provide these rates once the contract has been awarded to them. The Separable Portions that will be awarded in the first year of the contract will be decided once tender prices have been received and can be matched to the available budget. These Separable Portions will be advised to the successful contractor at the time of tender award so that first year materials can be ordered at tendered rates.
- Preparation and implementation of a Quality Plan.
- Setting out of proposed pipeline routes.
- The supply and installation of valves and hydrants as shown on the Drawings.
- Provision of all Traffic Control during contract works.
- Liaison with relevant Utility Authorities and house occupiers prior to and during investigation and protection/restoration of adjacent utility services.
- Testing, disinfection and commissioning of all new reticulation.
- The removal or backfilling of all abandoned hydrants, valves, markings as required.
- Reinstate the ground areas.
- The supply of materials, labour, plant, tools, transport and accommodation for the proper completion of the work.
- Provision of "As Built" dimensions, fittings and location information as per RLC specifications for Council's records.
- All other work indicated, described or implied on any of the Drawings, in the General or Special Conditions of Contract, or in this Specification.
- The maintenance of the Works in good repair for a period of 12 months for each separable portion.
- Installation of new mains & riders shall include excavation of the trench, jointing & bedding pipework, installing all required bends, tees, end caps, anchor blocks, valves, hydrants and associated surface boxes and markings, backfilling and compaction of the trench. All pipe work shall have blue water main indicator tape installed 500 mm above the pipe.
- New tobies shall be installed and boxed outside the boundary where existing tobies are within the property boundary.
- Relaying of all service connections by an Approved Contractor (see Appendix 3).
NB: A tenderer must be an Approved Contractor or have included pricing within their tender from an Approved Contractor to do the following work: Connection of new mains to existing mains; Disconnection and reconnection of existing service lines from abandoned mains to new mains; Cutting in of new tobies as required; and Disconnection of abandoned mains. A tender will be deemed non-conforming if the tenderer has not allowed for the above or if they are relying on trying to obtain Approved Contractor status after the tender closes.
- The time allocation per separable portion has been based on a minimum of 4 person manpower loading
