ICT Systems Integration. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has undertaken an initiative to improve its biosecurity risks under the recently established digital reform division. DAFF aims to develop an Enterprise Pest Management system and integrate it with the departments critical biosecurity information system.

We are looking for a full stack developer & team lead that can work across multiple technology stacks to deliver outcomes that improve risk management capabilities across the cargo pathway and the movement of shipping containers of imported goods into Australia. You will be working as a conduit between multiple technology and business team and have the overall responsibility to deliver the pest management solution.

Your initial focus will be on designing a pest management system using tailored .NET framework and with React front end implementing patterns like Material-UI. The platform is being built using the latest technologies and cloud-based architecture, utilising the power of platform services.

You will ensure that these components and the overall application is scalable, robust and easy to maintain. You will be working together with the project delivery lead to develop and define the product roadmap.

You will be part of a scaled agile team and must demonstrate your ability to work in an agile product development environment. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.

The ideal candidate will have:

Delivered large scale .NET solution using React 16.8+ or Angular 2+ or similar technologies.

Substantial experience with .Net and or .Net Core with C#.

Extensive experience with DevOps release orchestration using CI / CD pipeline e.g., Microsoft Azure DevOps, and GIT.

Substantial web application development experience, preferably with modern Single Page App development e.g., React 16.8+ or Angular 2+.

Strong collaborative attributes and a proactive approach to sharing knowledge amongst peers.

Experience in the use and development of RDMS solutions e.g., Microsoft SQL Server. Experience with Material-UI and design systems generally.

Experience with Visual Studio and VS Code.

Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.

Experience working in an agile team with agile practices e.g., SCRUM.
