Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The Adelaide 500 is a four-day event staged by the SA Motor Sport (SAMS) on Adelaide’s world-renowned street circuit and surrounding parklands in the heart of the CBD. The event is South Australia’s largest annual ticketed sporting event providing a vibrant mix of motorsport and other off-track attractions appealing to a diverse audience.

 
The Event precinct is a temporary street circuit located within a defined, fully fenced area in the East Parklands of the City of Adelaide. The race circuit is a 3.22km temporary street circuit created by a temporary infrastructure overlay on the existing road facilities.
 
The signage services procurement will be split in to two categories with a preferred supplier/s to provide experienced professional signage services for either the on track and or off-track signage as outlined below;
 
  • Category 1: On track – Barrier signage, start/finish line, ground signs and overpasses.
  • Category 2: Off track – gate signage, conditions of entry, corporate suites and doors, ticket booths, 500 Club, grandstands, family area, banners, engineering directional signs, marketing promotions and State branding 
The signage supplier for both categories will include production, installation, maintenance during the event and removal of signage post event.
 
For a major event like the Adelaide 500 to be successful, it is essential that signage for all sections of the Event achieves the needs of those sections. 
 
These need to include but not limited to: 
  • Pre-Event promotional material - mainly seen on overpasses and marketing material 
  • Movement by patrons around the site - essential to the operation of the event, patrons must be directed to the major attractions, catering areas and Event services 
  • Sponsorship signage - Essential that all signage provided gives sponsors value for money and has been located, usually by event experience, in high profile areas both for patron viewing and media exposure 
  • Engineering signage - It Is essential that all signage, on a construction site in a public parkland, Is clear and concise in its message 
  • Signage which Is not for sponsor or marketing purposes provide instruction to patrons, teams, contractors and spectators to assists in the safety of these groups  
  • Sponsorship packages vary, depending on the commercial agreements with the Sponsors, with some Sponsors paying directly to the Signage Supplier. 
The objective of the contract is to engage a suitably experienced Signage Contractor to meet the above Event needs in a cost-effective manner with a quality product that will enhance the Event. Similar experience with other major motor sport events would be considered essential.
