Statewide Trauma Service

⁠⁠⁠This Call for Funding Submission (CFS) document has been prepared to assist organisations in preparing and lodging submissions for the Statewide Trauma Service (STS).7

The final report of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System (the Royal Commission) recommends the establishment of a new statewide service by the end of 2022 to deliver the best possible mental health and wellbeing outcomes for people of all ages with lived experience of trauma.

In line with the recommendations of the Royal Commission, the Department of Health (the department) is seeking suitably qualified and experienced parties to enter into a service agreement until 30 June 2025 to design and deliver the STS.

This CFS has been prepared with close reference to the final report, particularly ‘Chapter 15: Responding to trauma’. CFS respondents are encouraged to read this and other relevant chapters of the final report closely when preparing their submissions. The CFS outlines the overarching functions of the STS and early priorities for delivery. The full service model, which will incorporate a range of activities as described by the Royal Commission, will be developed by the successful consortium.

This CFS is open to non-government (not-for-profit) organisations, public hospitals and health services, Community Health Services, research institutions such as universities, and other private entities (further detail can be found at section 7.2).
It is intended that the service provider for the STS will be a consortium – as such, respondents are required to be in a consortium partnership (including sub-contractors).

Unless otherwise stated, the term ‘Service Provider’ is inclusive of any consortium partner/s and/ or sub-contractors/s.
