Tender Description

The Australian Volunteers Program is seeking a team of research consultants to help the program consider our partnerships, the power-dynamics inherent in how we operate, and how we can best support local leadership from the perspective of our partners themselves.

Partnerships, and supporting locally led change, are key principles for the program and central to how the program works. The program is committed to reflecting on and improving practice in this area.

To support this, we aim to contract a small team of research consultants to explore these issues with a sample of our partner organisations. The program is seeking the support of a team of research consultants based in two or three of the countries where the program operates, not including Australia.

Details of how to apply:

We are hoping to find a research team, or separate research consultants with a track-record of working together, who live in two or three of the countries in which the program operates (at least one of which to be in the Indo-Pacific). We are looking for people with experience conducting qualitative research related to partnerships, capacity strengthening initiatives, and power dynamics within the international development sector.

To apply, please send CVs of all researchers and a cover letter to tenders@australiavolunteers.com by 19 June 2022, highlighting
  • interest in the work;
  • relevant experience and suitability of the work;
  • overall approach to the research including suggested focus countries, and;
  • an indicative budget outlining numbers of days per person and daily fee rates.
