Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠Noosa Shire Council (Council) is seeking a qualified supplier to undertake works including design and construct remedial works and widening of the northern pedestrian walkway. Garth Prowd Bridge is located on Noosa Parade, in Noosa Heads and crosses part of the Weyba Creek/Noosa River Estuary. The purpose of the project is to:

• Provide a serviceable bridge life to year 2067 (50 years from 2017);

• Provide capacity of the bridge for H20-S16 (33,000kg mass / MS18-44), A14 axle 92 x 70kN Wheels), W70 Wheel load (1 x 70 kN wheel) and other loads;

• Optimise whole of life cycle costs including costs of construction, and ongoing operational and maintenance aspects;

• Upgrading bridge guardrail approaches and departures to improve containment of errant vehicles and shield vulnerable users;

• Widening of the shared pathway on the northern side of the bridge and connection to the existing lowerlevel boardwalk at Sofitel Hotel;

• Upgrading of Traffic Barriers and Pedestrian balustrades;

• Provide suitable lighting; and

• Replace Deck Wearing Surface and Bridge Joints.
