Tender ID: 494586
Tender Details
Tender Description
A report recommending that Christchurch City Council look for a new site for the city’s organics processing plant was considered by the Mayor and Councillors on Thursday 28 April 2022. The full report can be found here: https://christchurch.infocouncil.biz/Open/2022/04/FPCO_20220428_AGN_7512_AT_SUP.PDF
The plant, which is where the organic material that people put in their green wheelie bins gets turned into compost, is currently sited in Metro Place, Bromley.
However, ongoing concerns with odour associated with the plant has led Christchurch City Council to investigate the option of moving it to a new location.
In the 28 April meeting, the Council’s Finance and Performance Committee endorsed the report that recommends the Council agree in principle to relocating the organics processing operation to an alternative site.
We are developing an appropriate market approach in respect of the future of the Organics Processing Plant which will be determined in accordance with Council’s Procurement Policy and Framework. We currently intend to inform this strategy via a formal invite to submit expressions of interest (EOI). The formal document will include our standard conditions of EOI which includes that any attempt made by a Respondent to influence the outcome of the EOI process by canvassing, lobbying or otherwise seeking support of the Council officers or elected representatives of the Council, shall be deemed valid grounds for the exclusion of that Response from the evaluation process.
