Heavy rains in March 2021 caused a major structural failure rendering a 300 metre section of road unsafe. Ongoing wet weather throughout 2021 and 2022 has seen Barrington Tops Forest Road remain closed, preventing all uses.A detailed engineering design has been completed by Geotrack Engineering Services. The works consist of bulk earth removal, installation of engineered geotextiles, benching works, pipe installation, sub-base and base course placement as per the Engineer’s design in order to restore access.
The Tender calls for experienced earthmoving contractors to be the principal contractor detailing their capabilities and rates. Forestry Corporation aided by Geotrack Engineering Services will oversee the works and provide materials (pipes, gravel, geofabrics etc.)
