Expression of Interest: Appointment as a Joint Chair of Coonamble and Gilgandra Audit, Risk & Improvement Committees

⁠⁠⁠Coonamble and Gilgandra Councils (the Councils) each have established an Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC).

The Councils intend to appoint the same person as Chair for both committees. They are therefore seeking, through this joint process, expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for appointment to Joint Chair of both Councils’ Audit, Risk and Improvement Committees.

The Objective of the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committees is to provide independent assurance and assistance on risk management, the control framework, legislative compliance, internal audit and external accountability responsibilities, as detailed in the Local Government Act 1993 (s428A).

The appointment will be for an initial period of two years with an additional one-year appointment subject to a satisfactory performance assessment of their contribution to the Audit Committees. The term of appointment for the Chair can be extended but any extension must not cause the total term to exceed five years as a Chair of the Committee. Both Committees need to agree on any extension as Joint Chair.
