Whitsunday Regional Council (Council) is looking to design and construct Stage 2 of the Cannonvale foreshore Skate Park, Coral Esplanade, Cannonvale Qld 4802 (refer to figure 1 below). Construction of Stage 1 of the facility is currently being conducted and Council is looking to complete the final design and construction of Stage 2 which consists of a New Skate Bowl.
Stage 2 Concept Design has undergone public consultation along with Stage 1 and has been approved by Council. Stage 2 received additional funding by a government grant, Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCI) and the project in its entirety (design and construction) must be within the budgeted amount of $480K.
The proposed Skate Bowl Stage 2 is being described as an ‘Improved Skate Bowl for All Skaters’ and is to be designed and constructed as per current Australian Standards and Council Development Manual and be a competition bowl catering for beginners to advance skaters.
The project will be managed with three distinct stages:
a) Draft Final Design (based on Cannonvale Skatepark Draft Concept Report (included in Specification));
b) Detailed Design; and
c) Construction.
A non-mandatory Tender Briefing has been arranged for 9am, Thursday 19th May 2022, 11.30 am (AEST). The location of the meeting is Cannonvale Skate Bowl, Coral Esplanade, Cannonvale Qld 4802.
