This Tender is invited by the Issuer.
The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) has a requirement for multiple ICT Delivery Managers to manage the delivery upcoming FY22/23 projects within the Digital Services Division (DSD).
DSD is responsible for the management and delivery of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) functions and activities across Australia and overseas for the department. The division provides a secure, modern ICT environment so that the department can conduct its business 24/7 and focus on achieving departmental outcomes. DSD staff work collaboratively across the department, taking advantage of advances in technology, to deliver end-to-end services and solutions that are nationally consistent and deliver organisational and business benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage the delivery of departmental project(s) following the department’s project management methodologies (such as Prince2, Agile, SAFe, hybrid).
• Manage a multi-disciplinary project team, 3rd party vendors, and/or other departmental teams to plan, manage, and deliver projects within scope, timeframe, and budget.
• Liaise with project members and key stakeholders to develop key project governance artefacts such as project plans, scope, timeframes, budget, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Liaise with ICT teams and vendors to ensure alignment and management of dependencies.
• Deliver high-quality reports, business cases, project artefacts and other documentation for diverse stakeholders such as project boards, steering committees, and Senior Executives.
• Ensure compliance with the relevant governance arrangements associated with delivery of the department’s ICT projects.
• Commit to being an active member of the Project Management Competency to execute the organisation’s ICT Strategy.
The successful candidate will have:
• Extensive experience working in Federal Government agencies managing the delivery of large and/or complex ICT projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading medium to large multi-disciplinary teams and working with external vendors.
• Ability to adapt to and work across various delivery methodologies (such as waterfall, Agile, hybrid).
• Demonstrated experience in identifying and developing high-quality project artefacts within tight deadlines.
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, critically assess information, and clearly present options/solutions to diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical and/or complex concepts via presentations, documentation, and diagrams in a business-ready format.
• Ability to work under pressure with close attention to detail and manage competing requirements/workloads to meet deadlines.
Mandatory Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in delivering technology, application, and/or infrastructure projects.
• Must hold a current ASGVA Baseline clearance (at minimum).
Positions are based in our Canberra offices. Depending on project requirements, remote working may be considered. Should remote working be approved, there may be a requirement to travel to Canberra on occasion.
