Overview
The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) strives to encourage the sustainable growth of Australian industries, including the delivery of a national innovation system to drive knowledge creation, international competitiveness and greater productivity.

The CIO Group within DISER’s Corporate Division is front-and-centre in implementing this vision, and provides a range of enabling services and operations delivery to the department.
The Department is an early adopter of cloud technologies, with approximately 60 per cent of our key applications implemented in the cloud, particularly using Microsoft Azure and O365 cloud services. We also have active legacy system de-commissioning migrate to cloud programs in place.
The department is seeking to enter into a capped value agreement with multiple sellers to draw upon Enterprise, Platform and Solution Architecture Services when and specialist technical services, and if, additional capacity is required. This as needed basis will vary across the year and is determined by business requirement within the CIOG.
Requirements
Services
• Development of architectural strategies, blueprints and roadmaps that underpin the delivery of DISER’s Digital Strategy
• Developing working models of business, information, application and infrastructure architecture layers
• Advisor to Design Authority (as required)
• Development of cost models to support NPP and other proposals
• Development of high level and detailed level architectural designs for applications and services across the layers.
• Expert advice to assist design, development and implementation
• Specialist technical support during implementation of high priority projects
Deliverables
• Current and future state Enterprise Architecture landscape.
• Roadmaps and key milestones outlining the delivery of the future state.
• Robust cost models and proposals.
• Architectural designs (High Level and Detailed)
Experience
Experience in Enterprise, Platform and Solution Architecture of cloud services such as Office 365 and associated Azure components with a focus on enterprise strategy.
Experience across multiple domain architectures including:
• application services
• integration services
• data services
• security services
• monitoring and managing of subscriptions
The ability to produce well-formed architectural design documentation.
Experience in a Federal government department and understanding of policies,
frameworks and security controls.
Please note: The preferred work location for these roles is Canberra, ACT. Remote working arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the supervising manager, subject to business needs. If you are proposing staff who are based outside of the ACT and/or are seeking to work via up to 100% remote working please indicate this clearly in your proposal.
