Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is seeking early market engagement for the Swan Hill moveable span bridge project to help develop a strategic business case for this project.
TfNSW, in partnership with the Victorian Department of Transport, is planning to replace the 125-year-old table lift span bridge over the Murray River between the border towns of Swan Hill in Victoria and Murray Downs in NSW.
This will be the first new full-size moveable span bridge constructed in NSW in 63 years and is believed to be the first constructed in Australia in 14 years.
This project presents an opportunity to improve road safety, traffic and freight capacity, reliability, and traffic delays due to lift span operation, pedestrian and cyclist accessibility, and facilitate foreshore improvements and further development in Swan Hill and Murray Downs.
TfNSW is developing a strategic business case for this project, and is seeking industry feedback to understand the market’s capability and to inform project staging and design.
This early market engagement will take the form of one-on-one interviews, and/or workshops, or online responses with invited organisations.
