Tender Description
The Crown in Right of Tasmania, represented by the Department of Treasury and Finance (the Crown), is seeking an Expression of Interest (EOI) for potential CBD sites for the Burnie Court Complex. Interested parties are invited to submit an EOI referring to the Siting Principles.
It has been acknowledged that the current facilities located at 38 Alexander Street, Burnie are no longer fit for purpose and must be replaced, the CBD is also in need of revitalisation.
It is intended for the EOI to identify any suitable CBD sites that:
- may be available for purchase and redevelopment or development and lease-back, on acceptable terms and timeframes;
- are potentially suitable for a new court complex, including future growth options; and
- are consistent with the strategic objectives of revitalising of the CBD.
It is anticipated that the EOI process will be completed within three months following commencement.
Following this process, the Government will be in a position to make a final decision on the preferred site.
