Request for Proposal: Integrated management approaches to address current pest challenges in raspberries and blackberries (RB21000)
Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Integrated management approaches to address current pest challenges in raspberries and blackberries (RB21000).
This project aims to bring together experts from pest and chemical ecology, protected cropping, farm management as well as economists and social scientists to derive innovation and long-term profitability in the Australian rubus industry.
The project is expected to conduct a prioritisation exercise in collaboration with other projects (RB21600, RB21620), growers and other industry stakeholders at commencement to focus on high priority pests and key management knowledge and adoption gaps. A thorough list of the major pests and diseases can be found in the Strategic Agrichemical Review Process (SARP, 2020). Priorities should be given to pests with broad host range across multiple berries, particularly those that can impact many rubus growing regions. Priorities will be reviewed each year with grower input and aligned with the SARP.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
