Port Augusta City Council invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of Redesign and Upgrade Works of Public Toilet Facilities – Rotary Park and Civic Centre to improve their amenity and Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliance. The Council will enter into a Contract for Services with the successful Tenderer.

Council has identified that the toilet facilities below require an upgrade for increased amenity while ensuring DDA compliant:

1. Port Augusta Civic Centre and Library, 4 Mackay Street, Port Augusta – Public Toilet Facility

The Port Augusta City Council’s main administration building, Council Chamber and Public Library is situated at 4 Mackay Street, Port Augusta. Public toilet facilities to service both the administration building and public library are located within the foyer of the ground floor. The current arrangement does not meet the relevant standards and requires refurbishment. A concept sketch has been completed and is available as an attachment in Section D of the Specifications.

2. Rotary Park, Mitchell Terrace, Port Augusta West – Public Toilet Facilities

Rotary Park is a popular recreational area for locals and visitors located at the intersection of Mitchell Terrace and Shirley Street, Port Augusta West. The reserve currently includes a playground, BBQ facilities with shade area, general open space and a brick public toilet block central to the reserve. It is understood that the existing toilet does not meet the current guidelines. A concept sketch is available as an attachment in Section D of the Specifications. Please note that the inclusion of this sketch does not imply compliance with the relevant standards or codes of practice.

Council seeks to engage a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to prepare a design consistence with the concept sketches for each location and to undertake associated refurbishment works.

Date of Practical Completion is 30 June 2022.

Redesign & Upgrade Works of Public Toilet Facilities - Rotary Park & Civic Centre
A briefing session will be held at 4 Mackay Street, Port Augusta, South Australia, Australia, 5700 on 11:00 AM 7 April 2022.
Notes: Briefing will commence at the Civic Centre. Attendees will be required to provide their own transport to Rotary Park as the second part of the briefing.
A site visit is a pre-requisite to submission and consideration of a bid.
