Tender Description
The Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine (VIFM) is conducting this Request for Information process (RFI) to gauge the market's capacity to deliver a product to replace its existing Case Management System (CMS).
VIFM is of the view that those organisations that provide systems used in small to medium sized hospitals and/or pathology services would be able to meet VIFM's requirements.
One key objective of the CMS replacement project is to implement a contemporary solution that provides holistic management of a case with integrated workflows and presents all case related data gathered from multiple sources in a unified display.
The VIFM case management solution performs functions normally associated with the following applications:
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR),
- Patient Administration System (PAS),
- Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and
VIFM's existing CMS is over 20 years old has been developed in-house and is heavily reliant on the ICT team for maintenance and support. The current system provides well-established functionality in relation to managing the forensic investigation but is increasingly challenging to maintain and develop. Operationally, the existing CMS does not provide a holistic case management function, e.g. there is a lack of integrated processes and limited continuous workflows spanning the VIFM's multiple functions.
