Reverse Osmosis Water Plants for Sterilising Services and Haemodialysis

⁠⁠⁠AH currently has medical grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) units installed across sites, used to provide high purity water for different clinical applications. In the Sterilising facility reprocessing equipment (e.g. washers, sterilizers) relies on the supply of clean water free from particles, bacteria and dissolved contaminants as outlined in the Australian Standard ASNZ 4187.

As part of Sterilising Service redevelopment project, the sterilization facilities across AH are being upgraded to ensure compliance to Australian standard ASNZ: 4187. Upgrade of the current infrastructure will require RO water supply to be compatible with the new machinery and be standard compliant.

In a haemodialysis unit, RO unit ensures adequate water quality for preparation of haemodialysis fluids which further determines the efficiency and safety of treatment delivered to a patient. This water must meet HD standards for pre-treatment.

RO units currently installed in AH haemodialysis units are either end of life or will be approaching shortly. Replacement is imperative to maintain service requirements. Additionally, AH procures all the dialysis equipment and consumables for Peninsula Health currently installed at Frankston, Rosebud and Hastings sites. Like AH, RO units installed at these sites are either past their end of life or out of maintenance contract. Accordingly, a joint tender will be conducted to replace them.

The Requirement:

The scope of this procurement activity is to appoint supplier/s to:

Supply, install and commission (all or part) of eight (8) Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems. Sterilising Services two (2) and Dialysis units six (6) which are compliant with

• AS/NZS 4187:2014 for Sterilising Services
• ISO 11663: 2009 Quality of dialysis fluid for haemodialysis and related therapies
• ISO 13959: 2014 Water for haemodialysis and related therapies
• ISO 26722: 2014 Water treatment equipment for haemodialysis applications and related therapies
• ISO 23500: 2011 Guidance for preparation and quality management of fluids for haemodialysis and related therapies

Provide ongoing maintenance and support for equipment

Provide technical support remotely or onsite within two (2) hours of breakdown
