Mansfield Shire Council is seeking to engage the services of an experienced and qualified contractor to supply and install roadside safety barriers that are MASH compliant on sections of Shaws Road and Dry Creek Road.
The proposed work is to install road safety barriers on distinct sections of Shaws Road and Dry Creek Road.
Shaws Road in Merton has a 100km/h speed limit and has a major culvert at Hut Creek crossing with a fall of more than 2.5 metres from the road surface with no guardrails or protection.
A 90m section of Dry Creek road has a very steep fall of 12m starting 200m north of the bridge over Lake Eildon. The existing guard rail needs to be extended along this section.
Therefore, to reduce risk along these roads, Mansfield Shire Council has proposed to install guardrails meeting MASH standard.
