Tender Description
The purpose of the procurement is to determine the greenhouse gas emissions reduction potential of agricultural wastes diverted to produce biomethane for use as a natural gas substitute (consistent with the biomethane activities under existing methods).
Scientific research services are sought to determine the suitability of prospective agricultural wastes to deliver eligible abatement under a potential expanded Biomethane Emissions Reduction Fund method.
The services required include:
• collection of data needed to support development of a potential new Emissions Reduction Fund method.
• estimating the abatement potential of each of the agricultural wastes, considering any greenhouse gas leakages that occur when the wastes are diverted to biomethane production.
The outputs from the project will be used to inform recommendations to the Minister for Industry, Energy and Emissions Reduction during the Emissions Reduction Fund method prioritisation process for 2023.
