In late 2020, as part of Busting Congestion for Agricultural Exporters the Digital Trade Initiatives division was established to develop and deliver the vision and strategy for agricultural exports, and to coordinate the range of export business and digital reform programs that are currently underway. At the heart of this reform package is the modernisation of export systems by building Digital Services to Take Farmers to Markets (TFTM).
The department is looking for a highly effective Program Manager to join the Digital Clearance Service Branch within the Digital Trade Initiatives Division. This role requires a passionate, adaptable individual who is adept at building great working relationships with different stakeholders whilst getting multiple projects over the line.
The Digital Clearance Service consists of a number of multi-disciplinary teams consisting of over 120 digital and technology professionals delivering fit for purpose and innovative solutions that contribute to the wider modernistion of export systems that enable the digital services to Take Farmers to Markets.
Ideal candidate
The individual filling this role will be responsible for the success of software and product delivery, sustainment, focusing on client relationship, program delivery, resourcing, reporting and overall program health.
Ideal candidates will have a client focused 'can-do' attitude and a strong focus on solutions rather than problems. Candidates will have experience managing large complex programs and project using agile techniques and delivery methods, that combine multiple technology disciplines to deliver business outcome faster. Candidates should enjoy interacting with clients in settings ranging from planning to delivery and maintenance.
The role is responsible for working directly with various product teams to continually assess, improve-on and modernise our multi product customer facing applications, platform infrastructure, security, performance, tools & process strategy, and implementation. The program seeks to provide direct input into assistance and guidance in the improvement of rapid software development, deployments, scalability, visibility, reliability, resilience, incident management and cost effectiveness. This role collaborates heavily with product owners, delivery managers, technical leads and architecture functions.
Responsibilities
· Clearance planning and delivery
o Provide high-quality project outcomes and outputs that support the Senior Executives in delivering improved business capability with high levels of assurance and governance
o Deliver fit for purpose, value for money and innovative solutions in alignment with DTI’s vision
o Support the transformation of the department into a digital leader within the APS
o Facilitate cooperation and partnerships with business partners, external agencies, and other stakeholders within the projects/programs of work
o Demonstrate strategic leadership and take ownership for the program and relevant initiatives
· Clearance program alignment
o Contribute to program prioritisation
o Ensure dependencies, risks and issues are socialised and managed appropriately
o Ensure planning cycles are in sync with organisational requirements
o Ensure reporting and governance requirements are met
· Contribute to design and establishment of the branch’s service-oriented delivery model
o Build organisational capability and responsiveness, in particular with context to digital transformation and service delivery innovation
· Actively support the Assistant Secretary of Digital Clearance Service Branch in the execution of their priorities and agendas
