Artistic brief: 726 Riversdale Road, Camberwell

⁠⁠⁠We are seeking an artist/s to transform the side wall which faces Coolangatta Road of the 726 Riversdale Road building, Camberwell. The artist/s will need to design artwork responding to the theme: Community and nature.

Submissions are welcome from individuals and groups with the intention of designing and painting the mural.

A quote and return brief are to be submitted to Boroondara Arts no later than 4pm on Monday 21 February 2022.

Theme
Themes to explore for the mural:

• Nature and greenery, referring to existing Camberwell nature and parks
• Encompass surrounding buildings, in particular Kaydon Court Garden flats, and
• Celebrate the community life and surrounding traders.

The aesthetics of the mural should be visually engaging, and linked to the community of Camberwell and existing infrastructure.

Project site
Location: 726 Riversdale Road Camberwell (corner of Coolangatta Road)

Project scope
The artist will:

• develop ideas for the mural and share with Council before installing work.
• be responsible for project development.
• supply all materials and equipment required to produce and install the artwork.
• have excellent verbal communication with the public when working on site.

Key tasks include:

• confirm the project timeline to deliver key milestones
• finalise artworks for each wall
• develop an Occupational Health and Safety plan
• implement the final works by June 2022.
