Department of Education and Training (DET) is seeking a service provider to co-design and deliver a professional development course, the Coaching with Confidence.
The course is aimed at Victorian Government school principals, assistant and aspiring principals, and other middle leaders who are enrolled in Victorian Academy of Teaching and Learning programs. And specifically, the course will:
- teach participants how to be coaches and equip them with the skills to coach senior teachers and colleagues.
- support the opportunity for Victorian government schools to engage (or facilitate the training of) and embed coaching capability to improve operational and teaching and learning activities with shared understanding and high-performance culture in their school.
- Include two post-training one-on-one (virtual) workplace follow-up coaching sessions for each participant.
- include access to a post-training online coaching toolbox to facilitate workplace application of coaching.
The course will enable participants to support internal professional skill-building in real-time and reduce dependencies on external coaching (and training) services. Trained coaches will work one-on-one with staff in their school to model and guide best practices in teaching and learning, business practices, and leadership practices.
