AAMI Park Stadium has been selected as a host venue for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023, as such the Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust (MOPT) are currently preparing for an upgrade of the existing sports lighting infrastructure.
MOPT will be appointing a supplier for the required LED luminaires and controllers through a separate procurement process which is nearing completion, and are now seeking to appoint an electrical contractor to carry out the installation, testing, and commissioning works.
The successful contractor will be required to demonstrate experience in delivering similar upgrade projects to a high standard, and experience in managing projects around a busy events schedule. The timeline for installation is from October to December 2022.
The scope of works under this contract will include:
- Replacement of existing metal halide fittings with LED fittings (to be supplied by MOPT), on the 4 x light towers and infill lighting under the roof canopy including the supply of required brackets.
- Installation of RGBW thematic lighting fittings (to be provided by MOPT) throughout the Stadium including under the roof canopy, public areas, and back of house areas per the electrical specification and lighting design (to be provided at the RFT stage).
- Disposal of all existing, redundant sortslighting infrastructure.
- Programming in conjunction with LED Supplier and other contractors.
- All cabling and electrical works.
- Commissioning and testing.
- Onboarding and managing subcontractors required to deliver the works as required.
