Hobsons Bay City Council (“Council”) is seeking to engage a suitable contractor to undertake the Donald McLean Reserve Playspace and Associated Community Park Upgrade (Project).

Overview of Scope of Work

On the western side of Donald Mclean Reserve, there is a Children’s Playground, earthen amphitheatre, and BBQ facilities. The Playground and associated Open Space will upgraded to improve the facilities available for park users. The scope of works include and are not limited to:

Pedestrian pathways Linking pathways to play and open space;
Cut and fill to facilitate a ‘learn to ride’ bicycle pump track ( to be installed by others)
Hard Surfaces, Drainage, irrigation of Garden Beds and Hydroseed areas;
Site preparation for Playground equipment Zip Line ( to be installed by others).
Open area for informal play;
Coordination of the nominated subcontractor for the Shade Shelter installation;
The installation of Barbeque facilities;
The installation of Seating, Picnic tables, Drinking fountains;
Coordination of the nominated subcontractor installing the Outdoor Gym Equipment;
Install only Council supplied Rubbish Bins;
Construction of new Half Basketball Court;
Coordination of the nominated subcontractor installing the Tree planting;
Supply and installation of Roadside Fencing.

Tenderers will initially be assessed against the following Mandatory assessable criteria

Public Liability Insurance minimum $20 million

Compliance and acceptance of Council’s Conditions of Contract

OH&S Policy and Procedures

Compliance with specification

Ability to meet timelines

Previous experience in delivering open space projects of a similar size in the last 5 years – at least 3 projects of value $500k -$1.5m since Jan 2017
