Gippsland Line upgrade - Bunyip and Longwarry Public Artwork

⁠⁠⁠We are seeking a Gippsland-based artist or collective to develop artwork that will be installed at Bunyip and Longwarry stations.

As part of the Gippsland Line Upgrade, creative works by a local artist will be incorporated into the designs of the station upgrades at Bunyip and Longwarry. The artwork will be imprinted onto perforated aluminium panels on the balustrades at the station entrances.

This is an exciting opportunity for 2D visual artists including painters, printmakers, photographers and graphic designers at an early to mid-career level, of all cultures, religions, nationalities, genders and abilities living or working in Gippsland.

The artwork design should be an original work that is vibrant, colourful, contemporary and responds to, reflects and celebrates the community and local context of Bunyip and Longwarry stations.

We will work with the chosen artist/s for each station to develop and install the artwork.

Further opportunities to integrate creative artwork into the designs for upgrades to Morwell and Traralgon stations are being explored in collaboration with the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation.

Interested artists are required to submit the following information as part of the Expression of Interest process:

1. Outline your artistic practice, including any previous experience delivering art commissions and why this project is of interest to you (up to 300 words)
2. Describe how you would respond to the themes outlined in the Artist Brief in developing your proposed concept (up to 300 words)
3. Provide up to 5 images of your previous work, and/or links to websites showcasing your work
