Project Background
Hunter Water has over 400 Emergency Relief Structures (ERS) in its sewer network, only a handful of these locations are currently monitored directly.
When Hunter Water experiences overflows from these locations they only become aware of the issue by manually inferring levels from nearby pump stations or from a customer complaint, often causing an overflow to go unknown for long durations.
This project involves the rollout of sensors to monitor the level at proposed ERS locations. This system will have customisable alarms for high level and overflow points, to alert operations and present information on an online portal.
