This Contract is for the Supply and installation of water treatment infrastructure within an existing building/headworks site at the Campground Headworks Site in Waikuku Beach.
The site is within a holiday park, therefore timing and sequencing of the works is particularly important such that the operation of the campground and its users are not adversely affected/disrupted/disturbed.
The headworks site is not currently operational and can be isolated from the reticulation system by closing a sluice valve outside the building.
There is hydrant on the headworks side of this sluice valve that has historically been used for flushing the headworks pipework; however this has required a long length of layflat hose connected with backflow prevention and run to a point of discharge to the small manhole as the proposed flush to waste system. This method of flushing is very disruptive to site users. The source well is artesian and there is no pump in the well, just the surface pumps in the building.
