Tender Description

⁠⁠⁠The Aotearoa New Zealand Continuing Professional Development (AoNZ CPD) Committee seeks expression of interest from Fellows for the position of Committee Chair.

The role of the Committee is to:

  • Encourage and promote CPD participation in AoNZ.
  • Work with RACP management to ensure the College’s CPD program meets the needs of the Fellowship in AoNZ.
  • Consider and recommend changes to the MyCPD program and MyCPD framework.
  • Provide advice to relevant committees including the College CPD Committee on emerging issues relating to CPD and participation in AoNZ.
  • Address AoNZ specific issues relating to regulation, physician competence and CPD, recertification and the regulatory environment.
  • Consider government regulation on CPD and recommend program and policy changes where appropriate.
  • Identify and facilitate peer review of learning resources suitable for CPD and promote development of learning resources to meet any unmet needs.
  • Work with the Professional Practice, other College bodies and Specialty Societies to support Fellows’ ongoing learning.

Key responsibilities:

  • Efficient progress and conduct of all AoNZ CPD Committee meetings to facilitate member discussions, debate and decisions on matters for which the Committee is responsible.
  • Ensuring Committee members’ awareness of the requirement to comply with the RACP Conflicts of Interest Policy and encouraging members to be vigilant in disclosing any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interests.
  • To sit on the College CPD Committee.
  • To sit on the Aotearoa New Zealand Committee.

The successful candidate will have:

  • in-depth knowledge of the RACP CPD participation policy
  • significant current knowledge, understanding and experience of developments in CPD and regulatory requirements
  • in-depth knowledge of the MyCPD program and what's expected of specialists in New Zealand
  • significant experience and skills in chairing committees
  • experience with education at a tertiary level (beneficial).

The Committee holds 1 face-to-face meeting and approximately 3 video conferences a year.
