Tender Description
Rio Tinto Utilities are looking to form a panel of engineering consultants across three (3) main categories of services to provide ongoing support to: operations, sustaining capital projects, growth projects, studies, testing and commissioning and 3rd party technical assurance.
The below list of activities is not exhaustive and shall be used as a guidance to the services within each category.
Category 1: Transmission and Generation
• System planning and modelling (grid connection studies – particularly renewables)
• Protection Studies (steady and dynamic system studies)
• R2 compliance modelling and testing
• Power quality studies
• Specialist engineering support (3rd party verification, Subject Matter Expert)
• Commissioning support and testing equipment
Category 2: Transmission and Distribution
• Overhead transmission and distribution line design
• High voltage, low voltage, protection and control network design
• Power system studies (protection, earthing, arch flash, corona, lightning, LFI, insulation coordination etc.)
• Civil design for transmission and distribution assets
• Structural assessments
• High Voltage Work Notifications
• Modelling support
• Engineering support
• Commissioning support and testing equipment
Category 3: Network Control
• Proficiency in power generation, transmission, distribution, water and hydrocarbons control
• SCADA development
• Control systems development
• Control systems support
• Proficiency in all of the following: Hitachi Energy Network Manager and RTU's, SEL RTAC, Schneider Electric Unity Pro
Software required:
• Power Factory
• CDEGS (Current Distribution, Electromagnetic Fields, Grounding and Soil Structure Analysis)
• PLS-CADD
• Hitachi Energy Network Manager, SEL RTAC, Schneider Electric Unity Pro
