Community Centre Management Opportunity
The Rural City of Murray Bridge is seeking Expressions of Interest from local Community Groups or Associations to manage the tenancy of Edwards Square Community Centre (formerly the Senior Citizens Club).
The Rural City of Murray Bridge provides a range of community facilities that are utilised by community and special interest groups for a variety of programs and activities, during business hours, evenings and weekends. A Community Facilities study undertaken in July 2021 identified a need for additional, easily accessible, flexible and fit for purpose community facilities that cater to these operational needs.
The centre and surrounding area at Edwards Square is located in the heart of Murray Bridge and offers multi-purpose facilities that could be utilised by multiple community and special interest groups to deliver a variety of programs to benefit the wider community. Within the building is a large meeting room capable of seating 100 plus persons, a small kitchen, two small meeting rooms and excellent toilet facilities.
Council is seeking to address the expressed community need and optimise future usage and community benefit of the centre by seeking a not-for-profit organisation to act as tenancy manager for the Centre.
A Briefing Session will be held at 10.00 am (ACDT) on Tuesday 23 November 2021, at Edwards Square Community Centre, 2 South Terrace Murray Bridge to provide interested parties an opportunity to walk through, view the centre and learn the opportunities it presents.
Interested parties that can demonstrate the ability to partner with Council to deliver the outcomes sought are encouraged to contact Debra Scott, Business Partner Procurement to obtain a copy of the Request of Tender documents.
