Calling all street performers, musicians, comedians, dancers, poets, artists, magicians, clowns, jugglers and human statues!
Get ready to put your best foot forward for a spot in our curated busking program designed to showcase Melbourne’s brightest busking talent.
Melbourne buskers, we have missed you and we want you to help us put life and love back into the streets and laneways and welcome people back to the city we love.
From Thursday 11 November, the City of Melbourne is celebrating all of our wonderful busking talent in a curated busking program.
Performers of all kinds are invited to showcase their skills on the city streets and reignite Melbourne. We are interested in both established artists and those emerging artists who have spent the last two years honing their craft, perhaps in their bedrooms or garages.
We want to offer a platform to as many voices and acts as we can, paying homage to Melbourne’s reputation as an arts and culture destination.
- Dates: Thursdays to Sundays from 11 November 2021 until end of the year
- Times: Four hour sessions, including breaks.
- Payment: $200 retainer per session, plus busking allowed.
- Locations: Various pitches across the city within retail and entertainment precincts.
- Permits: Free until 31 March 2022.
- Performers sought: All performers of varied genres/styles/sounds.
What do you need to do?
You supply your act, your hat and any equipment needed, including amplification and power.
The City of Melbourne will promote and feature buskers throughout the busking program on our social media channels.
Registrations are open and will be accepted until 5pm Monday 13 December 2021.
Expressions of interest
The City of Melbourne is engaging our brilliant buskers to entertain, inspire and delight the passing crowd each week from Thursday 12 November 2021. Each artist will receive a retainer of $200 excluding GST for a four hour busking set with breaks.
Performers are invited to submit an expression of interest by 5pm on Monday 13 December 2021.
